It is a PIRATE month in speech! We are all about pirate breathing to help keep our bodies calm. We "ARRRRRR" going to have so much fun practicing speech and language as pirates this month.
APRIL~
Spring has sprung!! It's all about rainbow breath in the speech room. Take a moment to breathe before starting an activity to help clear your mind. When your body needs to move a little bit, try these two spring poses, frog and butterfly pose.
March~
Spring is coming!! The children are super LUCKY to have so many fun, leprechaun activities this month. A fun way to improve visualization is using guided relaxation. Here is a rainbow one. Try it out!
Winter~
I love the snow so what better time to bring out the YETI activities! We do HOT COCOA breathing to help calm our bodies and get ready to learn. Check it out hot cocoa breathing.
February ~
Happy Valentine's Day! I have some fun "all about love" activities planned for this month. The book of the month will be There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Rose.
January ~
Happy New Year! We will learn a lot of winter words this month. There are 2 books on my agenda this month.
The Squirrel's New Year's Resolution and The Cold Lady Who Swallowed Some Snow. It is going to be SNOW much fun!
December~ We are starting the month off virtually. Please log on during your child's speech time so we can connect and continue to work on their goals. Reach out if you need anything.
November ~ This month we are focusing on being grateful! The story of the month is Bear Says Thanks. The children will be working on word relationships (characters & food). They will learn the word "feast" and how it applies to their lives. Do you have a feast on Thanksgiving? There are many more new vocabulary words throughout the story. Here is the link if you would like to listen to the story at home with your child. https://youtu.be/fiEv6QbtJis
October ~ We are learning all about autumn. The book of the month is There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed Some Leaves. This book is wonderful for fall vocabulary, sequencing, prediction, grammar and answering WH questions.
